Alessandro Cattaneo: slitting of rooms

Don Alessandro Cattaneo, who became rector of the Sanctuary from 12 September 1968, spent himself immediately in favor of restablishing the museum's area of the Sanctuary, splitting into three separate rooms, dividing areas according to the furniture. Thursday, April 15, 1971, Festa del Perdono, Cardinal Colombo along with the Mayor of Corbetta, Giovanni Olivares, opened the rooms of St. Charles also adding the precious votive exposed for public.

The new inauguration on 2011

Following the restoration campaign begun by Don Mario Motta in the Sanctuary ended with the return at light of the great painting by Giulio Cesare Procaccini that still forms the core of the entire museum, begun the reorganization of the museum environments in a renovated tase and with a path specifically designed to accommodate at best visitors.

In April 2011, the bishop Virgil Marco Ferrari, an auxiliary of the diocese of Milan, inaugurated the new museum, which still continues to operate for the benefit of pilgrims and devotees, in modern and avant-garde, but with the same spirit that animated its creator more than a century ago.
